| Self-help Counseling
|
For some men, it is neither convenient nor affordable to consult with a Registered Clinical Counselor. That's why they're happy to learn that professional help isn't a pre-requisite for achieving change. In this section, we present an expanding roster of articles to guide you when you can't work with a professional counselor. We also include our Gay Men's Forum, where James Joly, our Registered Clinical Counselor, answers your questions about how to attack problems and reach goals. At the same time, please remember that the reluctance of many men to look for outside help is more often about male socialization patterns than cost or inconvenience. Gay or straight, we are trained as males for independence and not to admit vulnerability. But we often save time and effort by reaching out, even if only to friends and associates. Find out more about self-help by clicking the hyperlinks below. The same links appear in the section navigation menu above.
