Privacy Policy As explained in our privacy policy, we neither collect nor share statistical data about visitors to our site. When you order online counseling, we obtain only your name and email address so we can contact you to schedule your session. This information is never shared with third parties. Payments for online counseling are processed via the PayPal. Since payments are made directly to PayPal, Gay Men's Counseling never sees nor receives a record of your confidential credit card data. For more information about online payments, please visit our Online Payment Security page. SAFeMail Encryption When you select chat room or email counseling, you will be given the option of using SAFe-mail, a secure messaging system that provides unparalleled privacy protection. Using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol and server encryption, SAFe-mail offers the highest possible protection for email, file attachments and chat room conversations. Firewall Protection We use both hardware and software firewalls to prevent unauthorized external access to our computers. If you are concerned about privacy, we encourage you to add a firewall to your own system. A popular and effective software firewall for personal use is available at no charge from Zone Labs Inc. Password Protection If others have access to your computer, you can use a password to stop them from viewing records of your online counseling sessions that may be stored on your hard-drive. If you don't know how to set up password protection, we can help when we schedule your online session. Workplace Computers/Email Privacy Since employers usually have a legal right to view data on company computers, we advise you to protect your privacy by avoiding the use of workplace computers for online counseling. Additionally, if you choose to use an unencrypted email product such as Microsoft Outlook Express for counseling instead of SAFeMail, we advise you that there is a small possibility that your data could be accessed by third parties. |
