Our counselor James Joly is a member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counselors (bcacc) and is authorized to use the professional designation Registered Clinical Counselor (rcc). The bcacc maintains rigorous professional and ethical standards to protect the public from untrained counselors. Membership is granted only to counselors who hold at least a Masters degree in counseling psychology (or related discipline) from an accredited university. To obtain the Registered Clinical Counselor designation, therapists must complete lengthy supervised training and be employed full-time as counselors for a minimum of two years. For more information on bcacc standards, please call its toll-free line at 1-800-909-6303 (Canada only) or visit its web site at www.bc-counsellors.org.
